Transnational meeting in Barcelona

On the 21st and 22nd of March 2022, the consortium met in Barcelona for a transnational meeting hosted by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and organised by Estel.la Oncins.
Gabriele Sauberer from ECQA, Armony Altinier and Clément Garénaux from Koena were also there in person. Tracey Mehigan from DCU alas had to stay in Ireland and participated remotely, as well as Amy Khairalla and Aude-Sophie Hervas from Koena, who participate in the creation of training materials.

We will present our dissemination output, a conference paper titled “Demystifying Digital Accessibility and fostering inclusive mindsets. Compliance with the European Standard for Digital Accessibility EN 301 549” at the EURO SPI2 2022 conference which will be held on 31st August to 2nd September 2022, at the Paracelsus Medical University, Salzburg, Austria (https://conference.eurospi.net/index.php/en/). The proceedings from the conference will be published in Springer CCIS Series.

Building a Modular Curriculum for Digital Accessibility Educator training

The second output (IO2) of the IMPACT Project consisted in creating a modular curriculum for the training of the new job we aim to create: Digital Accessibility Educator.
This modular curriculum was evaluated by focus groups in different countries from January to April 2021

Digital Accessibility Educator: a skill card

The first output (IO1) of the IMPACT Project consisted in creating a skill card for the new job we aim to create: Digital Accessibility Educator.
We led a survey in February, 2020. While the main aim was to map the European situation on web accessibility, participation was worldwide. We obtained 198 responses from 18 countries, included countries from outside the European Union.

In 2015, a UN committee conducted its first review of how the EU complies with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD). The Committee noted that the EU institutions needed to make more efforts to fulfill their commitment to make communication accessible to people with disabilities.
